About Dany Zelig
Dany Zelig is a world-renowned self-defense expert and premier instructor of authentic Krav Maga. A second-generation Israeli instructor in the lineage of founder Imi Lichtenfeld, he was certified by Imi’s most senior disciple and Head of the Rank Committee. Since 1983, he has trained civilians, military personnel, law enforcement agencies, and instructors across the globe.
Beyond martial arts, Dany is deeply committed to empowerment and service. Through non-profit ventures, he provides life-saving scholarships, free workshops, and specialized training for victims of domestic violence and violent crimes.
Dany began his lifelong passion for combat sports as a competitive boxer in Israel. During his service as an Infantry Staff Sergeant (סמל ראשון) with the elite Golani Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces, he was nominated to train at the prestigious Wingate Institute, earning his Military Krav Maga Instructor certification in 1987. He went on to teach Krav Maga to active infantry soldiers throughout his service.
With decades of experience and top-level ranks across major federations including Wingate (IDF), IKMF, KMG, and KMW, Dany Zelig continues to advance Krav Maga’s core mission: providing effective, evolving self-defense techniques that empower people to protect themselves and others in real-world situations.
